Many Thanks to Give

Thanksgiving has come and went, and we at Caltrain have much to be thankful for. We continue to make great strides in the Electrification Project; additional trains are arriving and  being tested and the Holiday Train is set to make its journey down our corridor this weekend.

I want to thank our riders, our dedicated staff and all our supporters from the public and private sector. We are making history and we couldn’t do it without you.

I hope to see you this weekend as the Holiday Train makes its way down the corridor!

Electrification continues to move forward with the arrival of two new electric train sets earlier this month. Each train set is delivered over 800 miles from the Stadler manufacturing center in Salt Lake City before arriving at their new home in the Bay Area.

First Train Set Complete 1,000 Miles of Testing

The first of the new electric train sets have completed their mandatory 1,000 miles of traveling on the Caltrain corridor, allowing them to enter revenue service next year. Caltrain is expecting two more trainsets to be delivered this year and will be testing each set as they arrive so they can be ready for passenger service in fall 2024.

The Caltrain Board voted to recognize Native American Heritage Month in November, in order to acknowledge the vast cultural contributions made by Native Americans. Caltrain is here to serve everyone, and we are proud to celebrate the diversity that has made the Bay Area a vibrant and wonderful place to live.
