Dear Residents –
This time of year, people all over the world are celebrating Passover, Ramadan,
Holy Week and Easter. Regardless of what you observe, I wish all of you a happy
and healthy holiday, one spent with the people that you love making wonderful
memories, ones that will last long after the holidays are over.
With the weather getting warmer, I can’t help but find myself thinking of the
summer. But I am getting ahead of myself, as there are many things to do in
Orangetown this spring. To start, Orangetown Parks and Recreation will be having
Friday Family Movie Nights on May 19, June 2, and June 16. The movies start
after sunset and tickets are $3.00 per person/$15.00 maximum per family. To
purchase tickets, please click here.
Of course, there is also the dog park, the playground, and the pickleball and
basketball courts at Veterans Memorial Park, all waiting for visitors after the long
winter months. And, jumping to summer (I just can’t help myself), every day we
are getting closer to the ground breaking for the new splash pad. What a welcome
addition this will be for our youngest Orangetown residents. Stay tuned for more
details in the coming months.
While this weekend looks to be quiet as far as events and activities go, you can get
out and take a walk on the Joseph P. Clarke Rail Trail in Sparkill or the Esposito
Trail in South Nyack, where you can jump onto the shared-use path and stroll
across the Tappan Zee Bridge. Or, you can head up to Tallman State Park and
check out the beautiful views. Yes, there is so much to do right here in
Orangetown!
Whatever you choose to do, enjoy your weekend and be safe.
Regards,
