WHAT IS THE APPRENTICE PROGRAM |
This program is geared towards recreational and pre-professional training in performing arts, both from the production’s front and backend. It is a contract that consist of technique classes in aerials and acrobatics combined with practice sessions. Supplemental benefits and opportunities include membership in RKP's performing team, the Orange County Aerial Arts (OCAA), and opportunities to render demonstrations at several popular venues and community events including the OC Fair, Festival of the Arts - Laguna Beach, Newport Beach Filmfest, South Coast Plaza's Festival of Children, Thousand Lights @ Sherman Gardens and more. The program also prepares the apprentice for a single competition event at the West Coast Aerial Arts Festival.
Additionally, the apprentice learns added skills not offered to regular students, including ground acrobatics, circus arts, contortion, hand manipulation skills, acro-adagio/ acro-gymnastic partnering, and dance movement in many forms.
Lastly, the apprentice gets to have a one-on-one goal oriented discussion with us and undergoes a yearly placement examination to secure academic growth and maturity in the specific discipline/s they have chosen. It is also in this program where the student is prepped for higher education or professional undertakings.

Ruby Karen has been a leading expert in the field of choreography, both in dance, aerials and full length productions. Whether simply needing links in your routine, to creating a customize, or commissioned work of any length, Ruby combines her expertise in dance and circus with her decades' experience both as a performer, choreographer, director and producer with a keen eye to details. Most notably, Ruby Karen has set choreographies to many well known celebrities including, Misty Copeland, Ashley Ellis, and Sofie Dossi, to name a few.
1st video: Showcases Ruby's choreography especially made for Staci Ensminger, with numerous title holder at the at the West Coast Aerial Arts Festival and Vivafest. All competition choreographies were created by Ruby Karen.
2nd Video: Group piece presented at the American Circus Youth Festival 2019
Many competition routines and group productions have placed 1, 2, 3, and have been awarded and recognized including overall and choreography titles.

If you are interested in participating in any of our performance activities, please fill out the Casting Form and purchase the Rehearsal Package as early as possible so we can start choreographing your personalized recital piece. Feel free to reach out to us for questions.
