Keep Off Lake Ice

The ice is fragile and can break easily. Stay away from the shoreline and keep off the ice. Anyone found on the ice may be trespassed and subject to amenity suspension. Pay close attention to children, and pets must be leashed at all times. If you see anyone fall through the ice, including pets, please call 9-1-1 and avoid unsafe rescue attempts. Check out the video below for tips on how to stay safe this season.

Snow Pushing

The City of South Jordan and the Association push snow throughout Daybreak. During snow events, South Jordan City requires residents to park on the even side of the street. The Association does not begin snow pushing until the end of a snow event with at least 2” of snow accumulation, or more. Crews may be dispatched in extreme cases where 2” are reached before the storm ends. As a reminder, single-family homeowners are responsible for removing snow from the public sidewalks surrounding their homes. For more details on snow-pushing responsibilities in Daybreak, please visit our website.

We’re excited to feature a new monthly series, Community Standards Corner! This month, we’re highlighting all things parking. Read below to get familiar with parking regulations in the community. For more information, review Exhibit D of our governing documents.

Parking Regulations

Residents may park in designated driveways, garages and public/private streets. The Association’s governing documents and South Jordan City Ordinances state that parking is not allowed in alleyways. Parking in alleyways can block emergency vehicles, snow plows and homeowner access. During snow events, South Jordan City requires residents to park on the even side of the street.

Recreational & Commercial Vehicles

Recreational trailers, ATVs, RVs and watercraft can be parked in residential driveways and streets for up to 24 hours in a four-day period to load and unload. The Association can leave notices on these vehicles. However, the City of South Jordan code enforcement is responsible for towing or booting vehicles in violation.

Equipment trailers, commercial vehicles, golf carts and inoperable vehicles are prohibited from parking in the streets or driveways. Delivery, construction and service vehicles are allowed during regular business hours and for a reasonable period.

SJFD Lake Ice Training

The South Jordan Fire Department will conduct its annual lake ice rescue training this week. The training will take place at West Beach Park. All South Jordan Firefighters are trained in ice rescue and prepared to assist in an emergency. The Fire Department is equipped with specialized suits and equipment to effectively respond and perform cold-water rescues.
