Are COVID Vaccines Safe for Your Children?

Get answers to your important questions about COVID-19 vaccines for children at this special online event. Dr. Traci Brooks, CHA Interim Chief of Pediatrics, and Dr. Lou Ann Bruno-Murtha, CHA Chief of Infectious Disease, will discuss safety, risks, immunity, boosters and more. Wednesday, January 19 at 7:00 PM.
ERs Are For Emergencies, Get Tested for COVID-19 Elsewhere

If you are having an emergency, call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room. CHA offers 24-hour emergency care at Cambridge Hospital and Everett Hospital.

Have you been exposed or feel sick and need a COVID-19 test?

Call your primary care center to schedule a test. Because of high demand, tests are by appointment only. Results can be viewed on MyCHArt. You can also visit the state testing website for testing locations outside of CHA.

If you take a home test:

  • A positive home test means the virus was detected and you very likely have COVID-19. You do not need to schedule a test at CHA to confirm a positive result.

  • A negative self-test result means that the test did not detect the virus and you may not have a COVID-19 infection, but it does not guarantee you do not have COVID-19. Repeating the test within a few days, with at least 24 hours between tests, or obtaining a molecular or PCR test, will increase the confidence that you are not infected. If you test negative at home, you can still get a COVID-19 test at CHA if you have symptoms.

For more information on home tests, please click here. Follow the CDC guidelines if you test positive or if you’ve been exposed.
Protect Yourself from COVID and the Flu

You can make a vaccination appointment in MyCHArt or through the state website. Due to high demand, we are not taking walk-ins right now. Check our website for hours and updated information. Note our new Saturday clinics through the beginning of March.
Snoring Solutions

If you are exhausted by snoring, find solutions. Join us online on February 2 at CHA’s next Lunch and Learn. Dr. Ayesha Khalid, CHA’s Chief of Otolaryngology, will explain the common causes of snoring, solutions and sinus health. Get your life back at this virtual half hour to health.
Quick Updates

  • If You Call or Send us a MyChart Message, please be patient. While your health is our top priority, many CHA clinics currently have staffing shortages because of COVID-19. This may cause delays in answering phones and responding to your messages. Staff are working hard and we appreciate your kindness and patience.

  • Dermatology is now open at the Highland Building at the Somerville campus (236 Highland Ave.). Please use the Highland lot when you come see us.

  • Phlebotomy has a new location at the Somerville campus. Use the main entrance (33 Tower Street), go straight to the back hallway and turn right. You can make an appointment by calling 617-665-2522. No walk-ins please.

  • Parking at CHA Assembly Square Center: Due to construction in Assembly Square, we now have 35 assigned spots for CHA patients (in the lot between our building and Home Depot). If all spots are taken, please park in the nearby Artisan West Garage or the Foley Street Garage. We apologize for any inconvenience.

See our new Patient Alert web page for other updates.
