First Annual Bloom Golf Outing & Clam Bake was a Success!
Our first annual Golf Outing & Clam Bake held at the Steel Club in Hellertown on May 9 was a big success, raising more than $40,000 to serve our women survivors. We want to thank everyone that came out as well as all the very generous organizations and individuals that supported Bloom through sponsorships or volunteering their time to help us make sure this event was a huge success. We especially want to thank our three Presenting Sponsors:
Also, we want to share our appreciation for our Honorary Event Chair Todd Donnelly and Event Chair Chris Brandt for stepping up to lead this event. And, thank you to the organizing committee members for all their hard work: Jane Brooks, Patricia Gorman, Karen Higgins, Vickie Nisbet, Dave Olexon, Roger Roberts, Sally Ryan, and Mark Sessanta.
My Sister's Closet Hosted Two Fashion Shows this Month
Over the years, we have participated in a number of fashion shows with various organizations. They are fun events and perfect for fundraisers and to help us share our message about sex trafficking in the Lehigh Valley and our mission!
On May 8, Moravian Village once again invited us to their annual Mother's Day brunch and fashion show. Eleven beautiful models showed off fashions from My Sister's Closet and all proceeds from the show benefitted Bloom.
In addition, the Newcomers Club at Green Pond Country Club hosted a fashion show and we had a pop-up show with accessories and jewelry.
If your church or organization would like to host one of our pop-up shops, please contact Rebekah Fritchman at My Sisters closet.

Our Events Committee is an active, energetic group of individuals planning awareness and fundraising events throughout the year for Bloom. If you are interested in helping on this committee, please contact our Director of Development, Vickie Nisbet.
| |
The sessions take place on Zoom from 7:00-8:00 p.m. the second Monday evening of the month: Apr 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, and so on.
If you would like to be added to the list to receive monthly reminders, please email us.

There’s no question that our beautiful new My Sister’s Closet is Rebekah Fritchman’s baby! As Store Manager, Rebekah has painstakingly nurtured our boutique’s metamorphosis every step of the way, from climbing ladders to install our ceiling and spackle walls (having recruited family members and friends to help), to countless runs in her own vehicle to haul remodeling materials, not to mention almost daily trips to stores to pick up essentials and decorative odds and ends.
Once we opened, one challenge was that our new space allowed limited room for volunteers to work and to store what has become a daily mountain of donations (THANK YOU, awesome donators!) Rebekah has put her creative and delegating talents to work in a big way, and the result is a harmonious workspace experience and the assurance for our shoppers that only the best of our pre-loved women’s apparel and accessories makes its way to the showroom floor!
| |
Would you consider becoming a monthly donor? Whether you give $10 per month or $50 per month please know that you are making a difference! Bloom's work, and the hope of the women we serve, is heavily dependent on the financial contributions of the community, foundations and sponsors. Visit our website today, by clicking the button below, for more information and secure online giving.

Bloom is a faith-based non-profit organization with the mission of providing sanctuary and a continuum of care to heal, empower and employ women survivors of sex trafficking. As part of its mission, Bloom operates a 24-hour care emergency stabilization home, a two-year residential program, and an independent living transitional home in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. Bloom follows the model and is a sister community of the remarkably successful Thistle Farms Nashville program. In addition, the Bloom Creative Studio, located in Bangor, Pa., is a social enterprise to leverage art as a healing tool and provide employment opportunities for survivors. Bloom also has a women’s upscale, resale boutique, My Sister’s Closet, based in Bethlehem, Pa., providing employment opportunities for survivors and financial support for the organization.
