Thursday, April 6, 2023 - Death and Resurrection
|
|
Dear Friends in Christ,
Tonight we begin the Holy Week journey. We have many coming to the 6:00 p.m. Maundy Thursday Agape Feast. If you would like to come but did not register, no worries. Simply send me an email and we'll make room.
We then have a 12pm solemn Good Friday service, and a 5:30pm All-Ages hands-on re-telling of the passion story. We follow with 3 services for Easter celebration: Saturday night at 8 p.m., Sunday morning at 8:00 and 9:30 a.m.
NOTE: We never know how many people will show up in-person, but it never hurts to arrive 15 minutes early to get a pew. We will have overflow seating in the chapel.
All Blessings on your Holy Week wherever you may be,
Seth+
P.S. A light entry point into the great mystery of death and resurrection.

Purchase an Epic Bible for kids at Lincoln Hills
Many of us were moved by The Rev. Amy Heimerl's ministry at Wisconsin's juvenile detention center. She asked for help to purchase more Bibles. To help you can either:
1) Write a check to Christ Church with "Epic Bible" in the memo line.
2) Order it here from Amazon and have it sent to

PARENTS: Do you want your children to be independent, spiritual, lovers of nature, and full of good memories?
Of course! That's why you should consider sending them to EpiscoWisco Summer Camp!
Held at Waypost Camp on Mission Lake near Hatley, WI, this summer camp will give your children all the classic summer camp experiences (field games, rope courses and swimming in the lake) paired with the beautiful Episcopalian spiritual tradition (All camp eucharistic services, compline in the cabins before bed). There are four sessions for kids from Kindergarten to High school. You can learn more by contacting the Hinchey's with questions.
Registration is now open for this summer's EpiscoWisco Summer Camp! In addition to registering kids from age 4 through seniors in high school for camp, we are also looking for staff.
You can find all the information on the camp website:

Victory for Wisconsin Native Plants
Governor Evers made a proclamation that APRIL 2023 is Wisconsin Native Plant Month!
This proclamation was made possible with the efforts of a friend of Lyn Slater and a member of the Green Tree Garden Club. Native Plants are particularly important now that scientists are documenting global declines in insect populations. Used in a rain garden, native plants help minimize flooding and filter out pollutants. They are also disease resistant and reduce use of fertilizers.

• We will continue to ventilate the space with fresh air.
•We strongly encourage vaccination for all those who are eligible and we encourage the unvaccinated to wear a mask for their own protection.
• As always, our virus response will be subject to change based on new variants and other factors.
