Library News
This week we are sharing our November Highlights! Our monthly highlights will always include 4 major statistics and some anecdotal information. Look at our Twitter to see the full infographic- @carpe_librarian.
This month Ms. Carpenter taught 36 classes ranging from CTE Human resources research, the conclusion for the Bridge Project, and a TON of English Classes for mini-lessons and book check out. We had 89 class visits- this includes classes coming in to check out books, utilizing the makerspace, or working in small groups on projects.
We had an outstanding month of circulation this month with 1,021 physical books checked out- if you remember your number for last month, this is only 1 book less with a short month. We have also seen an increased use in our databases and research platforms. We had 5,537 student visits: this includes students who come in on their own, with their classes, or with their clubs.
We also started our rewards system for those participating in library programs- giving out goody bags to 3 students each week for various badges earned. So far 12 students have received prizes for earning the following badges: Library Sign in, 3D Printing Certification, Fiction Fanatic, Graphic Novel Guru, and Media Literacy Week Badge. More opportunities to earn badges and prizes on our website: https://sites.google.com/houstonisd.org/bhslibraryincentives/home & on the BHS Library Canvas.
