Right in our back yard and hosted by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, this free event is dedicated to sharing and learning about Dakota culture and history. From traditional games and nature walks to Indigenous food and arts and crafts, this family-friendly event is a unique opportunity for visitors to learn and understand more about Dakota people.

Engage your child with self-directed learning stations that develop the five early literacy practices of Read, Write, Sing, Play, & Talk, plus kindergarten readiness skills. 20-minute walk-in or online appointments are available and are limited to one household at a time.

For ages 12-18 ONLY; registration required. Pick up your kit with materials to make and decorate two gratitude lanterns, similar to traditional water lanterns seen in several Asian countries. Kit has materials for two lanterns to do with a friend or make one for yourself and one to give away!

4-H is an out-of-school, hands-on learning program for people age 5-19. Youth choose a project that’s interesting to them and explore it with peers and caring adults. 4-H clubs are groups of youth who want to learn together and meet in every part of Minnesota.
