Reading Job 42:1-6, last Sunday, we shared about the places of heartbreak. In the darkest moment of his lives, Job finally acknowledged even those moments are in the hands of God. He confessed,

“I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear,
but now my eye sees you;
therefore I despise myself,
and repent in dust and ashes.”
Job 42:1-6

Today, I’d like to share a poem with you. Its title is “No Flower Blooms without Wavering” by one of my favorite Korean poet, Jong-hwan Do.

No Flower Blooms without Wavering
Jong-hwan Do

What flower blooms without wavering?
Even the loveliest flowers in the world
Always waver as they bloom,
Waver as they straighten their stems,
So what love does not waver as it goes its way?

What flower blooms without being moistened?
Even the most splendid flowers in the world
Are all moistened, moistened as they bloom,
their petals bloom warmly, moistened by wind and rain,
So what life is not moistened as it goes its way?

As we begin a new day, I hope this poem gives you comfort, courage, and strength. And may the steadfast love of our loving God be with us all the time.
