2022 Launch Event with Dr. Wendy Lower, 7:00 pm

The Ravine, Atrocities, Photography and Holocaust Research in the Ukraine
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear the distinguished, award-winning Holocaust historian Dr. Wendy Lower as she investigates a single photograph taken in Miropol, Ukraine, in 1941, and unveils the networks of complicity that made the Holocaust possible.
 
An overview of Ukraine and the Shoah will be delivered by Professor Jan Grabowski, history professor at the University of Ottawa.

Inspired by Correspondence – Letters that Survived
An exclusive opportunity to hear Dr. Deborah Dwork’s presentation, Holding on Through Letters: Jewish Families During the Holocaust, as she examines how Jewish families in Nazi-occupied Europe tried to hold onto each other through letters written under wartime conditions.

Rachael Cerrotti will share her grandmother’s Holocaust survival story as presented in her incredible podcast, We Share the Same Sky, the first ever narrative podcast based on a Holocaust survivor’s testimony.

Creating Safe Spaces: Navigating the Language of Antisemitism and Hate
A timely and free-of-charge Teachers’ Workshop for educators in all Ottawa school boards and throughout Ontario. Avi Posen of Unpacked for Educators will examine the facts and language of antisemitism, offer ways to recognize discrimination, and provide tools for engaging in difficult conversations in the classroom and with colleagues with the goal of creating safe spaces for all students.
