Assembly Bill 1400 fails in State Assembly |
AB 1400 which proposed a total overhaul of California’s health care system, failed passage in the State Assembly on January 31st after the bill’s author, Ash Kalra (D-San Jose) announced he did not have enough votes to secure passage and declined to call for a floor vote.
Business interests, including the UCAN chambers, opposed AB 1400 and its companion ACA 11, for two primary reasons: a complete overhaul of the state’s healthcare system is irresponsible and unnecessary, and the plan would propose the largest tax increase in the state’s history, when residents and businesses are already taxed too much.

NONPROFIT COVID-19 ECONOMIC IMPACT GRANT |

Financial Relief for County's Nonprofits |
American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funds have been allocated to El Dorado County, and the Board of Supervisors has directed staff to launch a Non-Profit Grant program with the intent to assist the County’s non-profit organizations.
All documentation is due by Friday, February 11, 2022.

2022 California & Federal Employment Posters |
You must post a compliant Employment Poster in a conspicuous place in the workplace where all employees and applicants can see it. The poster also must include information about your workers’ compensation benefits, payday schedule and emergency contacts. You may need to order several to ensure that your business, branches and satellite offices are displaying the poster according to the law. Failure to comply can result in severe penalties and fines by the state of California. If any of your company’s workers are Spanish-speaking, you will need to order the Spanish version.
