Christmas at Luther Tickets Available

It's not too late to reserve a ticket to attend Friday or Sunday performances of Christmas at Luther 2021! Select your seats by visiting tickets.luther.edu or stop by the Ticket Office in the lobby of the CFL. To promote the safety of our community, patrons are required to wear masks in the CFL Main Hall.

A Reminder from Campus Programming

Tuesday, December 7 through Sunday, December 12 is considered Finals Prep Week and is intended to provide additional space for students to prepare for tests, papers, and finals. These six days are set aside for academic preparation, and Luther does not schedule public events during this time, including student led events. Exceptions include athletic events, informal social gatherings and study breaks, Christmas in the Union, and Kwanzaa.


Tis the Season for Sustainability! Dec 3-4

On Friday, Dec. 3rd bring your own mug to the SOS and enjoy hot cocoa while learning to make and wrap sustainable gifts with Winneshiek County Conservation from 2-5pm.

On Saturday, Dec. 4th trade your unwanted clothes for an upgrade at the clothing swap! Drop off clothing donations in advance in Valders, the CFL, the CFA, and the Union, or bring them with you to the SOS on Saturday. 2-5pm. Questions? sustainability@luther.edu.


Become an LGBTQIA+ advocate withSafe Zone training - Dec 7

Safe Zone training is an opportunity to learn about LGBTQIA+ identities, gender and sexuality, and examine prejudice and assumptions. After, you will receive a Safe Zone Trained sign to communicate to others that you are supportive of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Our mission is to engage members across all departments and majors on campus to address health from a multi-disciplinary approach - you don't have to be a global health major to join! Compost collection closes Dec. 10 for the Holiday Break

Campus collection of compost will close on Friday, December 10. Compost collection will resume on Monday, January 3. For questions, or if you would like a personal compost container for your office, contact sustainability@luther.edu.


Upcoming Virtual PLEN Seminars

PLEN (Public Leadership Education Network) is offering Public Policy (Jan. 10th-14th) and Women and Work in America (Feb. 10th-11th).  Explore how to influence the policy issues you are passionate about and learn the range of professional opportunities and skills required to be successful. You will network and learn from female leaders on Capitol Hill, the executive branch, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private corporations.

If you would like to receive a flu vaccine prior to Holiday Break, please call Health Services at 563-387-1045 to schedule an appointment.


Asymptomatic COVID Testing for All Students, Faculty, and Staff

EAST (Expanded Asymptomatic Surveillance Testing) is open to all students, faculty, and staff on Wednesday mornings from 8:45 AM - 12 PM. Appointments are required and can be booked online, up to 12 hours in advance. On the appointment website, look for “Asymptomatic COVID Testing for Luther Community Members.” Anyone being tested must have no COVID symptoms and should be feeling healthy at the time of their appointment. (If you have COVID symptoms, check this page for your next steps.) This testing service is free of charge.
Masks are required at the testing site, located at 404 High Street.

Jazz Lessons and Carols
Come to a special worship service during Christmas at Luther weekend in the Noble Recital Hall at 10:30 A.M. on Sunday, December 5.

Monday Chapel
Start the week with music! Join us for Chapel on Mon., Dec. 6, at 10:30 a.m. in the CFL Main Hall for Monday Morning Prayer featuring Advanced Conducting.

Silent Meditation 
On Tuesday evenings at 5:15 P.M., in the CFL room 205. 

Advent Prayer Walks: Dec. 8 and 15
Meet in the CFL Lobby at 4:30 P.M. to share a song and prayer prompt before walking a loop around campus; make sure to bundle up!
