A message from our Missions Pastor
Hey Legacy Family,
I am writing this newsletter to you from Canada, here with our la Chapelle partners. I am in awe of God’s provision over this ministry during the pandemic. Pastor David, the Lead Pastor at la Chapelle, confirmed they lost partners and income due to covid. But he also said something so true about our God, "...that even in the midst, God has been faithful." Pastor David confirmed they were able to plant two churches during the pandemic and stated if it wasn’t for Legacy Church being a faithful partner, it would have been harder for them to move forward with those church plants.
One of the church plants was an amazing door opened by God for la Chapelle. A bar owner lost a lot of money during the pandemic, but offered his space, if the church would like to use it. This is great news because Montreal and the whole Province of Quebec is closed to the Gospel. A second miracle was when the Lord opened a door for their new church plant in Gatineau, inside a movie theater, which again is not normative within this area. Because of these opened doors, they have seen more salvations, baptism services, and transformed lives; Legacy Church, we were a part of that! To God be the glory! Thank you, for your commitment to seeing that the Gospel message is advanced through your giving to the general fund. Because of that we are able to assist our partners through great moments and through moments of challenge! There will be more information about future trips within the next few months - stay tuned!
In other news we have been receiving more requests for opportunities to attend the Personal Evangelism Class. Great news, we have a 2-session class on November 14th and 21st. Below you will see where to sign up if you are interested. The feedback we received from the first class is that it wasn’t only a reminder, it was also a little push to get out of our comfort zone and to speak out about our faith.
Speaking of evangelism, we had our first college outreach last month and it was a great time. Legacy Church hosted the lunch and a few volunteers were able to serve as well. We packed lunches for the students, sat down and ate with them, and simply started a relationship with them. Most of the students are foreign students and, at times, they lack the finances and relationships within their atmosphere to feel comfortable. So, this ministry helps us as the church to build a relationship with them. I want to thank Jacob Pierce for introducing us to this great outreach opportunity.
Just a reminder that this is the last week to bring our OCC boxes back so we can send them out. Remember as we take part, that one box has the potential to share the Gospel to 10 or more people that are in that child's life. Please be in prayer for each box.
It is almost Thanksgiving! Well, I just want to take a moment and say that my family is thankful for our Legacy family! We are thankful that we are around people who love the Lord and the people He loves. We are thankful for this amazing staff who works day and night to advance the kingdom of God. We are thankful that we are a part of a church that wants to share with the world the Good News of Jesus Christ. Happy Thanksgiving!!
Blessings,
Patrick Iga
