It’s that time of the year again!

We are providing pages in the Yearbook for parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, friends, etc. to send a special note or words of encouragement to our students, teachers, and staff members.

Love notes will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis for $3 starting NOW through April 1 at 2:30PM.

Please make sure you proofread your message before sending. Please stick to 140 characters or your message may be truncated.

Space is limited, to get them early!
To purchase the yearbook:

  1. Go to https://buytheyearbook.pictavo.com/
  2. Select the school or enter the school ID: 703663.
  3. Select "Buy the yearbook" link or press the Yearbooks option
  4. Enter the student information on the next screen
  5. Click Add to Cart. 
  6. Enter your (parent) information at checkout. 
*** Yearbook early-bird price is $25 until April 4th, 2022. After that date, the price will be $30.
To upload the photos:
  1. Go to https://buytheyearbook.pictavo.com/ 
  2. Select the school or enter the school ID: 703663.
  3. Select "Share your pictures" link or press the Pictures option 
  4. You will be asked to log in or create an account. If you uploaded the photos last year, use the same account. 
  5. Upload the photos to your student's folder. 
*** Limit is 5 photos per family, please. We are accepting photos through April 1st, 2022.

Jefferson is proud to partner with the American Heart Association through Kids Heart Challenge! We’ll be kicking off in February (Heart Month), but you can get a jump start by joining our online team.  

Download the FREE Kids Heart Challenge App for Apple or Android or visit www.heart.org/khc to get started. When registering, your child will choose a heart healthy challenge to Be Active or Be Kind and earn a FREE Road Warrior Wristband! Our goal is to have 100% of our students register online and take the Challenge.

Student who raise $150+ online before our assembly on 2/2 will earn a BONUS XL Captain KHC Explorer!

NEWS FROM THE DEI COMMITTEE
February is Black History Month.

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating Black history.
On February 1st we celebrate the Lunar New Year.

The Lunar New Year officially begins on February 1st, 2022, and ends on February 11th. The New Year marks the transition between zodiac signs: 2022 is the year of the Tiger; 2021 was the year of the Ox. Most people think that honoring the Lunar New Year is just a Chinese tradition, but it’s an event that’s celebrated in many countries in Asia and the celebrations are as colorfully similar as they are diverse.

VILLAGE RUNNER - ST. PATRICK'S DAY RACE
Registration is now open for the Village Runner St. Patrick’s Day Race on March 13, 2022! Sign up now as prices will increase in February.

A portion of race proceeds are donated to the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation.

RUHS GAME DAY T-SHIRT
RUHS Girl's Lacrosse is launching a fundraiser and selling a Game Day Redondo tshirt! All profits for this shirt will go to the Redondo Girls Lacrosse Program.

The shirt is $25 each (includes tax) and available in unisex, women's and youth and is in a Heather Navy color. 
Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
