"He Was Bruised for Our Iniquities"
Greetings!
“Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”
(Isaiah 53:4-6)

Think about what God’s Son, Jesus Christ, suffered for us. He was beaten, ridiculed, spit upon, and crucified. The sins of the whole world were placed upon Him. Your sins and mine. He took our punishment in order to provide a way of salvation. Jesus is indeed “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)

Those who confess their sins and believe in Jesus as their Savior will be saved.

“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
(Romans 10:9-10)

I encourage you to read all of chapter 53 of Isaiah. It is a beautiful picture of how much Jesus did for us.
God bless you,
Margaret Sorensen
