“New beginnings are in order,

and you are bound to feel some level of excitement

as new chances come your way.”

—Oscar Auliq-Ice

It's a new year. We navigated 365 days, popped a bottle of champagne, and woke up Jan 1 ready to do it all over again. Right?

Are you ready for 2023? Are you scribbling out dream boards and constructing in your mind all that this year will behold? Have you set your new year's resolution? Are you prepared to crush this year with a multi-pack of neon highlighters and a day planner? If you are nodding with enthusiasm and fist pumping, I am so happy for you! Truly!

But if I'm being honest, I'm not there yet. And maybe you're not either. Maybe you're a little more like me and your sitting next to the pool of 365 days, slowly swinging your legs, barely skimming the surface with your toes. Just simply enjoying the view and quietly considering "what will this year bring?". What I'm saying is, if your pack of highlighters is still at Target, that's okay.

I feel a greater appreciation for the annual meme, "Nobody claim [insert year] as your year"...

Everything about this feels right.

Let's go slow. Let's be good.

And while we're at it, let's make less noise. I have four children, it's always noisy, quiet sounds dreamy! Cautious? Respectful? I'm in! My one hang-up, I cannot promise I won't touch everything...especially if it's soft or shiny! Ha! I'm literally that person touching every article of clothing placed next to an aisle or walkway in a store.

I'm grateful for the new year. I am hopeful for what's to come. And whether you've purchased your highlighters or not, one thing remains the same year after year. We're gonna get to do this together. And that's what I look forward to!

PS. While I'm sitting poolside, I'll be on the lookout for you cannon ballers!
