Meet McKenzie Clemons

Bussiness Development Executive

McClone insurance agency

Meet McKenzie Clemons, our very own Professional Development Committee Co-Chair! McKenzie was born and raised in Appleton, went to school at UW-Madison, and has since moved back to the area and works with McClone insurance agency as a Business Development Executive. She serves on the Board of Directors for The Red Smith Sports Awards and CASA, and she is a committee member for the Women’s Fund. She has studied abroad in Rome and has traveled to Munich for Oktoberfest.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

“I really wanted to be a Spice Girl and Veterinarian when I was in preschool. I would not be what you would consider musically talented, and I think I would pass out in an operating room, so I have since let those dreams go.”

She loves to spend her free time doing yoga at Grace Underfire, getting coffee at Acoca, or getting lunch at either Author’s Kitchen and Bar or Bazil’s Pub. In the summer, you can find her on the field in her adult kickball league.

What has been your favorite PULSE event so far?

“My favorite PULSE event this year has been the Women in Leadership Panel. It was so great to hear Marissa Knuth (Ivory Rose), Alison Fiebig (Boldt), Ann Franz (NEWMA), and Nicole Malson (Stryker) share their perspective on how to be authentic and build your brand.”

Women in Leadership Breakfast

On October 19th, PULSE hosted a Professional Development event: the Women in Leadership Breakfast. It was a great morning of networking and learning as four amazing panelists shared their stories of how they became leaders. Those in attendance were able to ask questions and gain valuable insight on what it means to be a leader, how to stay true to your authentic self, why branding is so important and how to do it right, and more!

See photos from the breakfast here.

Congrats Megan!

Congratulations to PULSE member, Megan Gerl, on her promotion to Vice President of Community Programs at VPI, Inc. Megan will be responsible for all Mental Health and Educations programs, the VPI Community Day Center, the VPI Community Outreach Center, Workforce Solutions, Pre-Employment and Exploration, and the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) programs in Calumet, Fond du Lac, and Outagamie counties.
