MESSAGE FROM FR. JEFF

Hello everybody!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Our family gathered in northern Kentucky on Friday for a wonderful meal, connecting, and telling stories. It’s also when we draw names for our Christmas gift exchange. Some of you may also have taken advantage of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, or Cyber Monday. Today is known as Giving Tuesday. There is a national Catholic movement on this day called #iGiveCatholic. It is an opportunity for generosity that the Archdiocese of Louisville is participating in for the first time this year with 35 parishes and schools taking part with special and specific projects. We decided at St. Pat’s not to participate this year, but would like to draw your attention and invite you to support our sister parish of St. Boniface. They are raising much needed funds to paint the exterior of the church, parish office, and Nativity Academy buildings on campus. To view the video, learn more about the project, and donate, please click here. Thanks!

We also celebrated baptisms for a number of children and received into full communion with the Catholic Church two adults this weekend. Congratulations to them! It’s an inspiration to me to witness the faith of those who choose to follow Jesus. This Thursday will be another witness of that faith journey for our youth who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Archbishop Shelton will be our presider. Please pray for our youth, their sponsors, and all who continue to take their next best steps as a disciples of Jesus. Thank you!

Although the Catholic Services Appeal has not been updated because of the Thanksgiving Holiday, we have reached 70% of our dollar goal and 40% of our participation goal! Right now, our school families are in the middle of their class competition for participation. I am excited by their enthusiasm! Thank you all for your generosity, participation, and prayer! Together we can reach our goal and make a difference in the lives of many who are in need across our Archdiocese, which is our extended church family.

Finally, Advent begins this weekend! It is as short as it can be this year, only 22 days long. Even though brief, it is a time to orient our hearts and lives for the coming of Jesus and the celebration of Christmas. O Come, O Come, Emmanuel! Please see the resources and events below that can help all of us make the most of this season, grow closer to Jesus, and look for his coming.

May God bless you and keep you always in his loving care.

Peace,

Fr. Jeff
