Family Promise

Family Update from Dawn Hartman

A couple of days before Thanksgiving I was doing some grocery shopping when a woman approached me and asked if I remembered her. After a beat I realized it was Courtney, one of our Family Promise moms for the last few months. Courtney, Alvin and their five children stayed with us several times after moving here from Mississippi. I am very happy to provide an update for those of you who had the pleasure of getting to know this delightful family. During their last stay at Grace, they let us know that Courtney had applied for a new job and they had put an application in for a house. God has answered both of these prayers! The whole family was so excited about celebrating Thanksgiving in their new home and Courtney is enjoying her new job.

Volunteering during Family Promise week is rewarding in its own right but knowing “our families” are moving on to bigger and better things is the icing on the cake.

Family Promise Hosting Week - December 3-10

Grace will be hosting Family Promise next week!

We'd love to have you join us in welcoming our guest families and making sure they have good meals and a comfortable place to stay with us.

To take part in this week, please click HEREWe have roles for everyone - setup, making dinner, spending time socializing, sleeping, and resetting!

For more information, please contact Pr. Rachel.

This Friday, the Rock Hill Christmas Parade will go past our front door, and we'll be opening our bathrooms for our neighbors! We get hundreds of bathroom visitors each Parade, and we expect a crowd this year, too!

Be a Parade Hero - help us welcome our neighbors! We need volunteers to take a 15 minute shift during the Parade to show people where the bathrooms are and make sure they get back upstairs without getting lost. We'll need guides from 6 to 8pm, which will be 8 people total, one 15 minute shift each. If you can take a 15 minute shift, please email Pr. Rachel HERE.

Thank you!!

Seniors @ Grace

It is that time of year again for our Annual Jubilee Christmas Party on Thursday December 14th.

Come dressed in your best holiday outfit, bring a gift for our wild gift exchange and something yummy to eat and share with the group. We will gather in the Fellowship Hall at 11:30am. Lunch at noon as usual followed by much laughter and good nature gift stealing. We also usually do a collection to help a local charity.

Please let Annie Laurie Wheat know if you can make it and what dish you are bringing by December 12. (803 517-0626 or wheatannielaurie@gmail.com)

Remember there can never be too many desserts!

100 Connections

We have 86/100!

Over the course of our 100th year, our congregation is making 100 new connections in the community.

We know that we've definitely made 100 new connections at this point - we just haven't shared them with each other yet! During the meeting, we invited people to write down their connections, and we received 26 new cards! This brings us to 86 - only 14 to go to meet our goal, and we'd be excited to exceed it, too.

These connections are simple - where have you met someone new, learned their name, and felt connected, even for just a few moments? You don't have to have talked about church - we ARE the church, we take it with us wherever we go!

To share a connection you've made, please click HERE and help us meet our goal. Thank you for being the church in the world, sharing God's love with the community!

Can we get a ride?

We have several members of Grace who would love to come to worship on Sunday mornings, but can't drive themselves.

We are creating a list of those who would be willing to give someone a ride to and from church, so that those members can be in touch and be with us in person! If you'd be willing to give a member a ride, please let the church office know HERE.
