Using Ice Melt While Protecting Plants and Turf
Choose ice melt products according to the active ingredient. Sodium chloride is the most effective, but by far, the most caustic. Potassium chloride is a close second. Instead, calcium chloride and calcium magnesium acetate are better choices.

4-H's Mechanical Engineering Workshop

When: March 30, 2022 from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Where: Nebraska Extension Douglas-Sarpy Counties, 8015 West Center Road, Omaha.
Cost $15

In this engaging workshop, youth (ages 8 and older) will learn about mechanical engineering and apply skills learned to build cardboard automatas! Cardboard automata is a type of mechanical sculpture made of simple materials.

Lawn Fertilizer and Pest Control Products in 2022

Landscape maintenance products made both domestically and overseas are expected to be dramatically affected by the pandemic in 2022. Recent estimates from suppliers reflect a possible 20-30% increase in fertilizer, seed, lawn mowers, tools and pest control products.
