Fredericksburg, Virginia, November 26, 2023 - The Friends of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library’s goal for Giving Tuesday, November 28, is to encourage support for Library on the Go. This outreach service is an essential part of the library’s mission of lifelong learning for everyone in the community.
Between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023, Library on the Go
reached more than 7,000 community members.
CRRL is committed to bringing the library to customers who aren’t able to visit buildings, and the newest Library on the Go initiatives, the Youth Services and Westmoreland programming vans, are the most robust outreach offerings to date. Quite literally libraries on wheels, CRRL’s vans offer technology access, classes, and curated collections of books and other materials, as well as other library services.
CRRL received grant money to purchase the vans; however, funding limitations have restricted fully completing the projects. The Youth Services van is in need of more diverse books, while the Westmoreland van is still in the early stages of completion.
The Friends of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library
are aiming to raise $20,000 to get these much-needed
outreach vans into the community.
