California significantly underfunds its public schools, ranking 41st in per-pupil funding. And contrary to what most people think, Moraga is among the lowest-funded districts in California!
The Moraga Education Foundation Is the Primary Fundraiser for Moraga Schools
Since 1981, Moraga parents have been filling the gap between California state funding and the actual cost of educating our children by donating to the Moraga Education Foundation. Today, local support, including your MEF donations, accounts for about 25% of the budgets at both the Moraga School District and Campolindo. It's thanks to this support that our schools have the resources they need to provide an excellent education to every student, every day!
Watch the videos below to learn more about why Moraga needs an education foundation and why our property taxes aren't sufficient to fully fund our schools.
You can donate at any time during the Annual Giving Campaign, but the earlier, the better!

If you plan to give later in the Giving Campaign, please make a pledge for the amount you plan to give. This is important because our schools plan their budgets and submit their grant requests for the next year to MEF starting in January, and the MEF Board needs to be able to estimate the amount its grant will be before the end of the Giving Campaign.
Your donations to the Moraga Education Foundation empower educators to achieve excellence in learning, teaching, and leading so that every child can be safe, healthy, supported, engaged, and challenged.

Thanks to parent and community support last year, MEF was able to grant $2.3M to the Moraga School District and Campolindo this year!
Distribution of this year's $1.5M MEF Grant to the Moraga School District (MSD) serving TK-8th grade students at CP, LP, Rheem, and JM:
Academic Support: reading tutors, teacher aides, writing aides, and a Teacher on Special Assignment under Pupil Services.

STEAM: technology instructors, project-based learning, art teachers, & electives at JM including Robotics, Coding, & Magic of Electrons.

Student Wellness: counselors, student support services, the JM Wellness Center, and social-emotional learning.

Enrichment: music teachers, music and band classes, and librarians at each school site.
Distribution of the $800,000 MEF Grant to Campolindo High School:
Additional Class Sections: allowing for smaller class sizes, more choices, and additional levels of study.

Department Grants: supporting the library, the College & Career Center, and used to purchase items such as science materials, laptops, 3-D printers, instrumental coaches, supplemental literature, and so much more!

Wellness Center: full-time staff and peer resource programming.

Professional Development: classes, seminars, and workshops for Campolindo teachers.
The best way to support your child's academic experience is by donating to the MEF Annual Giving Campaign.

You can make a one-time donation, set up a payment plan to spread your donation out over time, or you can make a pledge now and donate later. The recommended annual donation is $1,300 per TK-12th grade student. But EVERY donation makes a difference, so please donate at a level that is right for your family!
