Michael's designs inspired by Fondren
.....Fondren fashion designer Aaron Michael recently completed a stint on Bravo's popular Project Runway. In what many considered a surprise elimination in the competition, Michael had been named one of the top designers more than any other Season 19 competitor.
....In an interview with WLBT, Michael talks about his experience on Project Runway and how he gets inspiration from Fondren landmarks like Campbell's Bakery and Walker's Drive In.

One Church to be Word of Life Fondren
.....One Church, the diverse, non-denominational church which meets in Duling Hall, will merge with Word of Life, another non-denominational church, effective February 27.
....."Word of Life has been diligently searching for real estate in the Jackson metro area to launch our next satellite campus," noted Executive Pastor Hillary Ravick. "One Church is located in one of the most desired areas in Jackson by utilizing Duling Hall in the Fondren community."
.....Word of Life has signed a three-year lease to continue meeting at Duling Hall on Sundays. In addition, the church will staff offices in Duling School.
.....Word of Life's central campus is in Flowood on Lakeland Drive.

COPS resumes at Fondren Presbyterian
.....The City-sponsored COPS (Community Oriented Policing Services) meetings have resumed after a long, pandemic-related pause.
.....Fondren resident Bill Wilson moderated the January meeting which featured the city's new Constituent Service Coordinator Wanda Smith.
.....Future meetings will be held the 4th Thursday of each month at Fondren Presbyterian at 5:30 p.m.

Help with Blues Marathon Feb. 19
.....The 15th Annual Blues Marathon will return to Fondren on February 19. Starting at the State Capitol, runners will make their way to the Fondren Business District on to several Fondren residential streets before returning downtown. Volunteers are needed as route monitors and to staff the Fondren Water Station on North State Street.
