Dear Friends,

We have probed the depths of the Prodigal Son's story over the past few weeks. Did you realize there were witnesses lurking in the background of the painting all this time? When you lean in close to the piece, you will see their faces, watching the scene play out before them. Who are they? What are they doing there? You don't want to miss what their presence has to say to you—we will hear more about that this Sunday. In the meantime, we have a lot of great things going on at FBC Griffin this week! Share with us how we can be praying for you this week.
Let's Play in the Dirt!
Come one, come all to the Community Garden TONIGHT between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. to help get the garden in tip-top shape for planting! We will have pitch forks, but bring a shovel if you have one. We have mulch and we're ready to spread it.

If you have questions about the Community Garden or if you would like to serve on a garden rotation this spring/summer, please contact Patrick Shepherd.
COFFEE AND CONVERSATION: CHASING FRANCIS
The library ministry invites you to our second Coffee and Conversation of 2022. On Saturday, April 2, 10:30-11:45 a.m., Brian McCartney will discuss the novel Chasing Francis. We will explore the many religious themes in the novel and become better acquainted with Saint Francis of Assisi. The eBook of this title is available for purchase online if you are interested in having a copy.
We invite you to join us on Thursday, April 14th, at 6:00 p.m. in Morgan Hall for a very special service during which we will narrate, sing, and read from Scripture as we contemplate the colors of the cross. Our ministerial staff will lead us in acoustic worship with hymns interspersed with old favorite choruses. We will participate in the Lord's Supper as we reflect on Christ's sacrifice for us.
We will participate in the Lord's Supper on Sunday, April 3. As is our tradition at FBC Griffin, we will also collect a Benevolence Offering at the end of the service. Our Benevolence Ministry supports those most in need in our community through services like the Caregiver's Clothes Closet and partners with other services in our area like Five Loaves and two Fish Food Pantry.
Children's Ministry
PreK-Kindergarten FUN
Our little ones will participate in the Community Garden Work Day between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. tonight. You can meet us in the garden across from the Family Life Building.
April 13: Easter Egg Hunt
We've been told that the Easter bunny will be hopping through Griffin soon.

Make sure you have a basket ready on April 13 at 6:00 p.m. (after our 5:00 p.m. meal) to intercept any goody-filled eggs that might have been left behind!
Leading in Worship

Our Wednesday night 1st-5th graders will be leading in worship soon. On Palm Sunday, April 10, look for them in the Celebration Service. Then, on Mother's Day, May 8, we will get to see them leading in Connexion.

Student Ministry
Students will meet in the basement (the Student Center) at 6:30 p.m. tonight for worship and small groups. Ask your teen to invite someone along on Wednesday night for games, Bible study, and to make new friends!
DON'T BLINK!
Basecamp will be here before you know it! Get that calendar out and block out July 18-22, 2022 because you don't want to miss this experience! More details are coming soon.
Calling all Graduates!
Do you have a student graduating soon? (Or, are YOU graduating soon?) We would love to spotlight our graduates in May, but we need your help.

Adopted As Sons

“What did you say!?” My translator looked at me with shock and disbelief. Technically, I had conjugated the phrase correctly, but what I didn’t realize was that the word I had just spoken was also an idiom in that culture for something extremely offensive. Embarrassed, I apologized profusely and tried to go on about my business....

Floral Arrangements
The flowers in the Sanctuary and Morgan Hall are given to the glory of God and in loving memory of Earle Millican, Jr. upon the anniversary of his birthdate (3-29-1931) by Barbara Scott Millican.

If you wish to place flowers in the Sanctuary or Morgan Hall in honor or memory of a loved one, then please call Brenda Goolsby (cell: 770-468-3959).
Easter Flowers
On Easter Sunday there will be arrangements of lilies in the sanctuary, the narthex, and Morgan Hall. If you would like to honor a loved one by contributing toward these flowers, please put your gift of $12.00 (per listing) and the name of the person whom you are remembering or honoring in the offering plate or take it to the church office by April 3, 2022. Donations may also be made here or online through the FBC Griffin website by choosing Easter Memorial as the fund and by listing your honoree in the optional memo space.
