How does it work?
Students will shop with their class, during their regularly scheduled library time. All purchased gifts will be wrapped in a holiday bag and labeled for the kids. There will also be time on Friday morning, Dec. 10, for any children who may have missed their shopping day or need to grab one last gift.
Budget Envelopes: We will be sending home budget envelopes this week, along with additional information, so parents can help kids determine who they are shopping for and how much they will spend. You may review items for sale HERE.
How will kids pay?
Only cash will be accepted at the holiday market. Students will be able to shop independently or with the help of holiday market elves, who will be available during shopping hours to assist.
What do items cost?
There are more than 100 different gifts that range in price from $0.25 to $13, with most gifts priced at $5 or less!
Earning their Holiday Market Funds
Our school holiday shop is a great excuse to encourage your children to earn money so they can shop for the holidays “on their own” and pick the perfect gifts for family and friends. Here are some ideas of how students can earn holiday spending $ to shop at the GRE Penguin Patch Kids’ Holiday Shop.
o Make the bed
o Help bring in the groceries
o Help a sibling with a project
o Feed the pet
o Assist with chores at home
