Visit to one of the best Home Stabilizing public benefit corporations in the nation. MNC team members Richard Ybarra, Aurora Alvarado, Beiling Gonzalez, Guadalupe Carballo and Natasha Zee visited our Santa Clara County and fellow Tipping Point grantee friends in homelessness prevention and housing, Life Moves. Life Moves CEO Aubrey Merriman’s tour included the Admin facility in Santa Clara where we spoke to team members on their work with rapid housing, operations, human resources and facilities management. The Life Moves staff were passionate and shared success stories on overcoming personal struggles with homelessness which made their work even more inspiring.
We toured their Navigation Center which helps clients with temporary housing and life skills like interviewing and resume building. Places that give them stability and a place to call home while job hunting. One client, Chance, expressed gratitude to Life Moves for their guidance and help. We visited Haven Family House, another temporary housing location.
Thank you, Aubrey Merriman, Maria Nava, and Life Moves team! MNC is grateful to visit these stunning locations and brainstorm ideas to improve our own MNC Homelessness Prevention work. Your idea to build quality shelters that can become permanent housing, is one solution that should be heeded.

| | Family Engagement Workshop: Cake Decorating | | Parents and children bond during the family engagement workshops |
MNC Valencia Campus held another successful family engagement workshop. The activity for this workshop was cake decorating. Each Family member received their own cake to decorate with icing and sprinkles. Parents enjoyed working with their children while expressing creativity with icing. Families had fun while children working their fine motor skills and squeezing colorful icing onto their individual cakes. We look forward to our family engagement activities each month.
