CESSRST Weekly Announcements is a new initiative to keep CESSRST Fellows and Advisors/Mentors up to date on important programmatic deadlines, memos, and opportunities including internships, NERTOs, and NOAA jobs.
Important Memos
  • NOAA EPP/MSI CESSRST Fellow, Vesshan Narinesingh will be defending his doctoral dissertation titled Connections between Atmospheric Blocking, General Circulation, and Weather Extremes in a Hierarchy of Models and Various Climates on January 19, 2022, at 10:30 AM ET | Joining Zoom Link

  • Graduate Fellows must initiate their NERTO internships (virtual/hybrid/in-person) no later than May 2022. Fellows who have not been able to identify their NERTO Mentors yet must reach out to their CESSRST Advisors and CC- cessrst@ccny.cuny.edu and jcorredor@ccny.cuny.edu.| Read the NERTO onboarding process here.

  • Fellows who graduated this semester must complete the CESSRST Exit Survey and update their LinkedIn profile.

  • Fellows who are continuing their training beyond spring must upload their transcripts for the fall semester and complete the Individualized Students Development Plan (ISDP) including Professional Advancement and Career Engagement (PACE) and NERTO dashboard on CESSRST Manamagent Information System (MIS).

  • Fellows who haven't completed the remote sensing core competency must attend the Remote Sensing Core Competency Workshop from Jan 18th to Jan 20th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET | Register Here.

2022 EPP/MSI Undergraduate and Hollings Scholarship Program

The EPP/MSI Undergraduate Scholarship provides awards of up to $9,500 per year for two years of undergraduate study to rising juniors at Minority Serving Institutions who are majoring in STEM fields that directly support NOAA's mission. The Cooperative Institute for Modeling the Earth System (CIMES) Research Internship Program: Summer 2022
