The IEC Foundation seeks to support not-for-profit organizations, to create opportunities introducing and guiding men and women to successful and satisfying careers in the electrical and communications industries through Equipment Grants.

The 2022 application period will be Monday, January 3rd, 2022 to Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 at 5:00pm EST. References from employers and IEC Chapters will be accepted from students until Friday, March 4th, 2022 at 5:00pm EST. |

The IEC Foundation formed the scholarship fund exclusively for the charitable and educational purpose to award deserving and qualified students who have demonstrated drive, dedication and leadership in their pursuit of careers in the electrical industry. The Foundation Scholarship Fund is offered to Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), students, members and their immediate families, who plan to pursue post-secondary education in college or state accredited apprenticeship programs. |

This is for students pursuing a career in the construction trades. The scholarship awards up to $1,000 per year and may be renewed for a second year, for a total of up to $2,000. |

The electrical contracting industry, and in many cases construction trades as a whole, is at an inflection point where demand of services is significantly outpacing supply. Put simply, we need more skilled electricians in order to meet this demand. The IEC Foundation is in a unique position to incubate growth by helping our IEC chapters attract, train, and continuously support apprentices in our trade. I am a 3rd Generation Electrical Industry employee as my maternal Grandfather was an electrician and my mother was an ergonomist in the Electrical Utilities industry. I’m proud to be a part of helping define the future of our industry! -Erik Odden
