Dear Friends,

Have you ever fallen asleep during a movie only to wake up at the end and realize you missed an amazing action scene? That feeling of disappointment could only have scratched the surface of what it was like for the disciples to have missed the first half of the transfiguration of Jesus with Moses and Elijah! Find out more about God's response to them in our message this Sunday.

Let us know how we can lift you up in prayer this week.
We will hold a Called Church Conference at the end of each service on Sunday, February 27. During this conference, members will be asked to vote on the candidates for the two part-time positions of Minister of Pastoral Care and Minister of Community Engagement. Tap the button below to review the information presented to the congregation last Sunday.
Ash Wednesday
We invite you to join us in Bramblett Chapel for one of our two worship services on March 2. For the early risers, we offer an 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. service. If you prefer to drop by during the lunch hour, please join us from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.
Our church was founded on March 7, 1841. We will observe Founders' Day on Sunday, March 6. During services, we will recognize those individuals who have been members for 50 years. Following services, we will give each family a copy of A Community of Grace, a new book by Senior Pastor, Steven Norris. In addition to this book, we will give you a list of resources you and your family can use to explore our theme for the year: Inspire.

Missions Update
Through the end of February, the Mission Council will be collecting onesies (any color, sizes 0 to 2T) in the designated box in the Welcome Center. One of the missionaries we support in Kampala—Missy Ward-Angalla—has asked for our help for the refugee children served by Amani Sasa. The only onesies they can acquire for these children are very expensive and of poor quality. Our own short-term missionaries will be traveling to Africa in just a few months and will take any onesies we can collect to Missy. Thank you for your prayerful support of Amana Sasi and of our missionaries.
Benevolence Ministry Needs
If you're getting stir crazy with this crazy weather, why not double check your closet to see if you have any coats or bedding you would be willing to donate to our Caregivers Clothes Closet?

We are in need of men's jackets/coats, comforters, spreads and blankets.
Thank you!

When Silence is the Best Response
by Steven Norris
Transfiguration Sunday. For many, this Sunday will pass by without so much as a blip on the proverbial radar. In the liturgical calendar, however, the Sunday before Lent is the Sunday we remember Jesus taking his “inner circle” (Peter, James, and John) up onto the mountain.

Floral Arrangements

If you wish to place flowers in the Sanctuary or Morgan Hall in honor or memory of a loved one, then please call Brenda Goolsby (cell: 770-468-3959).
Easter Flowers
On Easter Sunday there will be arrangements of lilies in the sanctuary, the narthex, and Morgan Hall. If you would like to honor a loved one by contributing toward these flowers, please put your gift of $12.00 (per listing) and the name of the person whom you are remembering or honoring in the offering plate or take it to the church office by April 3, 2022. Donations may also be made here or online through the FBC Griffin website by choosing Easter Memorial as the fund and by listing your honoree in the optional memo space.
