Last week, MASFEC completed one of our Strengthening Partnerships Train the Trainer sessions. This program helps communities implement Massachusetts' collaboratively-developed framework for equity-driven family engagement. The women and men who joined us brought deep knowledge and insights to share, and I left these sessions feeling inspired.
In a recent report to one of our funders, I had the opportunity to reflect on how fast our community of families and family engagement practitioners is growing. In fact, between MASFEC and the other programs that make up FCSN, we provided resources and trainings to more than 60,000 participants last year! If you were one of them, thank you for being part of this incredible number.
All of this can be a reminder that Family Engagement is not a one-person job. It's about many different people working together to make sure that all young people have the opportunity to thrive. None of us is alone in this work, and together we make a powerful community!

On February 10 at 5pm, join the Federation for Children with Special Needs for a conversation about learning during the pandemic. Facilitated by Elizabeth Bostic, this session will welcome families to share experiences and define needed solutions to the challenges we've faced.

Lunar New Year Books for Young Readers |
Mathangi Subramanian, Ed.D. has compiled a collection of childrenโs picture books great for learning about Asian cultures or to celebrate the traditions already practiced in your community and/or home. Choose some favorites to read and share this Lunar New Year (Tuesday, February 1st), and remember to revisit these and other titles throughout the year.

Strengthening Partnerships Train the Trainer |
MASFEC is hosting one more session of our Training of Trainers session for individuals interested in bringing the Strengthening Partnerships model to your school or district.
- April 5, 6, and 7 from 1pm โ 4pm
Participants who complete all 3 sessions will be supported to deliver the program at least 2 times within one year of training and to report the data on your work back to MASFEC.

Positive Solutions: Train the Trainer |
Do you have a passion for social emotional learning and want to promote it in your community? If so, then consider signing up for the FREE Positive Solutions For Families train the trainer series, where you will learn about resources to share with your professional and caregiver communities. ICYMI: Family Engagement Practices for IEP Teams |
The Federation for Children with Special Needs has partnered with the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and other organizations as part of the IEP Improvement Project. Included in this work was the development of a course to support school staff in meaningfully including students and families. The course can be completed at your own pace and includes many MASFEC resources.
