Non-perishable Food Item Drive Begins this Week!

Service Learning Leadership is sponsoring our food drive coming up this Fri., Nov. 12th through Thurs., Nov. 18th. Join us in supporting families in need this holiday season. Our drive will once again be a friendly (but fierce!) competition for third period classes. The winning third period teacher/class will be the keeper of our perpetual trophy. Please join us in supporting a number of different food distribution sites including the San Pedro Boys & Girls Club, Long Beach Ronald McDonald House and the Long Beach Rescue Mission. While we appreciate ALL donations, we also encourage you to please check expiration dates on your items if you donate from your own pantry. We had a number of expired items we could not donate last year. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Myrick ([email protected]) Thank you SO MUCH for your support of this tradition and of families in need!

On Friday, the girls' tennis team defeated Arcadia 14-4 to advance to the CIFSS Open Division Semi-Finals. They will play rival Mira Costa on Wednesday—at home at 2 p.m.—for a chance to reach the finals for the third straight year. In fact, the team is the two-time defending champion. They won the Bay League for the 9th straight year.

Last week Isa Bringas defeated teammate Lindsay Eisenman in the finals of Bay League Singles, and both players will advance to Individual sectionals on Nov. 22. The team of Cydney Yamamoto and Kayden Roxas will advance in doubles.

Recently Cydney announced her commitment to play college tennis at UC Irvine, while Lyndsay chose to play at D3 tennis powerhouse Claremont McKenna. Both are seniors and captains.
