DON'T MISS THE BOAT

Last Chance to Donate to the Conservancy in 2021
Throughout her storied history, the SS United States has been an enduring symbol of power, pride, and perseverance. Her design was unparalleled. Her service career was unblemished. Seventy years after her christening, she continues to inspire action, resolve, and a spirit of resiliency.

Make a TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION to the Conservancy today for the 2021 tax year and help us save an American icon.*
Despite the year’s challenges, 2021 was full of exciting activity featuring the SS United States, and there’s fresh hope as we look ahead to 2022. While we are monitoring the COVID pandemic closely, we hope to once again be able to gather in person. Exciting events are being planned for Manhattan’s Steinway Hall, Virginia’s Mariners’ Museum in Newport News (an extravaganza being organized by the Conservancy’s Hampton Roads Chapter for the weekend of April 9-10), and of course the Conservancy’s long-awaited, week-long Legacy Cruise in partnership with the Pollin Group setting sail from New York City on August 21.

Our global community is growing, and we’ve continued to make steady progress toward our goal of ensuring this symbol of America’s resilience, strength, and innovation endures and inspires for generations to come. But we can't do it alone.

There's still time to renew your membership or make a donation and claim it for the 2021 tax year.* Today, we face new hurdles. The dramatic increase in the ship’s pier rent has intensified our financial challenges. However, the SS United States has always turned adversity into opportunity and achievement. With your continued support, she will do so again.

On behalf of the Conservancy's entire board of directors, please accept our deepest gratitude for your continued support.
*As a national 501(c)(3), all contributions to the SS United States Conservancy are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. We encourage you to consult your tax professional for further information and guidance.
THE BIG U CONTINUES TO INSPIRE...

“You don't know when the next opportunity to build something that physically imposing will come along, if ever. To me, it's like holding onto cathedrals and castles. As we feel more and more alien and alienated in our own country, it's really important to be reminded of what we've accomplished. Cutting ourselves off from that is a denial of history that can only hurt us."
