We're so glad you can join us as we put a spotlight on our newest addition to the SCOPE Board of Directors, Patrick Gaston! After joining our board in September, Patrick has jumped right in to learn all about SCOPE -- our campership efforts, and SCOPE's developing College Scholarship commitments!
Patrick joins our community through a different lens, he did not attend camp, but Patrick's two sons had a great time as campers years back at Meadowbrook Country Day Camp, before making the move to the DC area! In Patrick's own upbringing in the Boston area, he had a pivotal boarding school experience which he relates to the life-changing opportunities accessible through SCOPE and the camp opportunities we help to deliver.

As a pioneer in corporate social responsibility, Patrick has decades of professional experience leading mission-driven projects and humanitarian efforts across the globe. In addition, Patrick is a trailblazer in global fundraising projects and has experience establishing major corporate foundations for companies like Bed Bath and Beyond and the Verizon Foundation. He brings this wealth of knowledge to his role as a SCOPE supporter and board member.
As SCOPE celebrates our 30th year of providing overnight summer camp opportunities to children from under-resourced communities across the country, we are grateful to Patrick for joining us on this journey to champion our cause by utilizing resources and professional skills to grow SCOPE’s impact.

ROB WILK
SCOPE Board Member

Rob Wilk has enlightened SCOPE greatly by demonstrating how someone can be
camp-passionate even though they work outside of the camp industry. Rob's personal connection to camp started when he attended overnight camp as a youth, a place where he met his wife Haley. Now, as a parents, their three sons spend their summers living camp to the fullest at Camp Baco in Upstate New York.
When Rob joined the SCOPE Board of Directors in 2017, he was eager to ignite our relationships with corporate partners and we’ve been grateful for his contributions, connections, out of the box creativity and support ever since! As the VP - Global Head of Strategic Sales at Microsoft Advertising, Rob is constantly traveling the globe but manages to catch up with SCOPE in the spare moments he has.
Rob has served as a connector between SCOPE and Microsoft/Bing by way of corporate support and sponsorship for SCOPE events. Rob has shared Microsoft space so that our Board of Directors and Associate Board can comfortably meet and discuss SCOPE matters on a quarterly basis. In addition, his generosity has given the SCOPE staff the ability to work remotely with Microsoft laptops!
We thank Rob for his commitment to our mission and for all the ways he helps SCOPE make a difference in the lives of the children we serve!

Odyssey Teen Camp, Massachusetts
SCOPE Northeast
|
|
|
Odyssey Teen Camp, a sleep away camp developed for teens 13-18, is located in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. As many people are aware, traditional camp programs are not necessarily for every child. Many teenagers struggle to find their way and feel good about themselves; this can be particularly true for the LGBTQ+ teens and all teens that feel like they don’t fit in. At Odyssey, these teenagers recognize that they will not be judged, but rather are going to be included, honored, and celebrated for exactly who they are. This does a world of good for a teenager’s confidence. Being in an accepting community like Odyssey Teen Camp allows teenagers to relax, connect, have fun, and re-imagine their place in the world -- helping to meet SCOPE's mission of providing camp experiences for ALL children!
