EXCITING NEWS FOR SAUGEEN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
Bruce Power will be donating $100,000 in support of our Bring Tom to Town CT scanner campaign!

This generous gift has a delightful twist. The $100,000 is aimed to inspire riders in this year’s Gran Fondo Lake Huron, presented by Bruce Power and Suppliers, to put in extra effort to fundraise for the CT Scanner.

Bruce Power will match all funds raised by cyclists taking part in this year’s event, up to $100,000.

Your Will Could Change the Future
Few decisions are as personal and significant as making a will and leaving a legacy gift in it. Both are a reflection of your values and how you choose to leave the world a little better.

Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation has partnered with Will Power in a national effort to show Canadians that you have the power to do more with your Will. Talking to your financial advisor is a critical first step on that journey.

During the month of May, we’ve been sharing our “Guide to Speaking with Your Advisor” - a resource from our friends at Will Power. This guide can prepare you to start a conversation about a gift in your Will with your advisors.

Just a few of the tips we shared this past month:

  • Start the conversation by sharing why you want to leave a gift in your Will.
  • Work with your advisor to estimate the future value of your estate - what percentage will go to your loved ones? What percentage could help your hospital or other favourite charity?
  • Ask about the different ways to make a legacy gift and their unique benefits. Some options, like a gift of securities or life insurance, might come with big tax savings.

Read the full Guide by visiting the legacy giving page on our website.

Willpower.ca offers free tools and resources to help, including a simple calculator to see the potential impact of your legacy gift. The website can also connect you with a local lawyer, accountant or financial advisor if you don’t already have one.

We appreciate your consideration to include our hospitals in your estate plans. This decision is one of great importance and we want to be here for you throughout the process. If you ever have questions, feel free to contact me at wvanderploeg@smhfoundation.ca.

You could change the future of health care for everyone who lives, works and plays in Saugeen Shores.

Sincerely,
