Making a Difference: One Family at a Time
Dear Friends and Supporters,

The omicron variant has continued to lay siege in our community. In the last couple of months, COVID has impacted Family PASS staff, board members, and several of our clients and their children. Our clients undoubtedly have experienced the biggest impact. With low-wage jobs and no paid time off benefits, Family PASS has stepped in to assist many of our clients with rent to get them through their periods of illness and quarantine. While there have been some federal COVID-relief funds for Fairfax County residents, the next round of funding has been delayed and is not yet available. Family PASS has been able to fill in the gap for many of our families.
Client Story:
Your support has helped Kimberly, a divorced single mother and domestic abuse survivor, who came to us two years ago. Dependent on child support that was inconsistent, and working multiple jobs, Kimberly found it difficult to make ends meet. We helped keep the family housed with rental assistance. We also helped with a major car repair, childcare costs, and connections in the community for clothing and household items. Now, Kimberly is working on an RN degree and is expected to graduate this spring. She has been making fantastic grades, while balancing school, work, and family, through an already stressful pandemic. We have supported her with tuition assistance to lessen the burden on her student loans. We are excited to see her succeed!

Thank you for helping us help families like Kimberly and many others. We hope you will continue to support our mission to serve other families at risk, and help them on a path to self-sufficiency.

With gratitude,
Debi Sutton, Executive Director

We received the most tremendous support for our annual Holiday Gift Drive!! Every year, this project gets bigger and better!! So many people and organizations contributed to making the holidays special for our families and their children. Our clients were incredibly appreciative of the generosity. Thank you to Patti Cooksey for organizing the holiday drive, and to everyone who contributed to making this project so wonderful!
