This Sunday is Pentecost, the day we celebrate the birth of the church and the giving of the Holy Spirit to the disciples of Jesus. The liturgical color for the day is red, which symbolizes the pentecostal fire of the Holy Spirit, and our processional ribbons at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. will evoke the wind from heaven, as described in the Acts of the Apostles.

The Kettering Children’s Choir, which brings together young singers from throughout the Miami Valley of Ohio, will be offering their musical gifts during the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services.

On Pentecost we continue our “ Big Questions” sermon series with another question you asked be addressed from the pulpit: “What’s the deal with the Holy Spirit?”

Then next Sunday, June 16—which is Trinity Sunday—we will consider “What does a Christian have to believe?”

Come think about big questions with us!

Curious about our previous questions? You can read online the sermons exploring them.
This coming Monday, June 10 is the last day to submit names of those graduating from eighth grade, high school, college, or a graduate or professional program in 2019.

To submit graduate names, please send them to Rocky Supinger. Graduate names received by June 10 will appear in next Sunday’s worship bulletin, as June 16 is Baccalaureate Sunday.
Individually packaged snack items—particularly single servings of granola bars, chips, pretzels, and fruit or applesauce cups—are needed by Fourth Church Meals Ministry for our Bag Lunch program.

Each week we distribute more than 900 snacks as part of our Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday lunch in Anderson Hall. That translates into an ongoing need for a lot of snacks!

So as you’re out grocery shopping in the days ahead or placing orders online, please consider adding to your cart some extra snacks for our lunch guests.

Donations (labeled “Meals Ministry”) can be dropped off on Sundays during Coffee Hour or at the reception desk on weekdays and Saturday, or they can be ordered for delivery to the church.

Are you looking for ways to connect with others here at Fourth Church? We invite you to find an event or program that has you curious. Among the opportunities on the calendar in the next few days are—
