THRIVING MIND APPOINTS NEW OFFICERS, DIRECTORS
AND HONORARY DIRECTORS TO ITS BOARD

The Thriving Mind South Florida Board of Directors has appointed new directors, renewed and appointed new officers and appointed new honorary directors.

New directors: Shanika Ampah Captain Michael DiGiovanni, Bishop Joanem “Fanfan” Floreal, Mecca McCain (Youth Member), Commissioner Holly Raschein, and Commissioner Jean Monestime were appointed new directors. Valera Jackson and Michael Nozile were appointed directors after having served as honorary directors. They join current directors Sally Alayon, Paul Armstrong, Vincent Carrodeguas, Richard "Rick" Clements, Judge Jeri B. Cohen, Luis Collazo, William "Ted" Franklin, Dr. Malou Harrison, Paul Imbrone, Carlos Martinez, Major Arnold Palmer, Dr. Joseph Parks, Frank Rabitto, and Susan Racher.

Officer appointments: Luis Collazo was appointed Assistant Treasurer. Paul Imbrone will continue to serve as Chair of the Board. Paul Armstrong will continue to serve as Chair Elect of the Board. They join Susan Racher, secretary, and William "Ted" Franklin, treasurer, and Frank Rabitto, assistant secretary.

Several board members finished their terms and agreed to serve as honorary directors: Rev. Jose Hernandez, Mario Jardon, Victoria Mallette, Rosemary Smith-Noel, and Duane Triplett. They join Kevin Andrews, Michael Festinger, and Sandra McQueen-Baker

Newcomer, Caraballo speak at national justice webinar
John W. Newcomer, M.D., President and CEO, and consultant Carol Caraballo spoke at the Nov. 17 Partner Webinar: Mental Health Crisis Response: A Case Study in Reducing Arrests and Coordinating Care, along with Netsmart and National Sheriffs Association. The event is put on by Justice Clearinghouse.

Staff Promotions
Adilen Cruz officially assumed the role of Vice President of Behavioral Health Services on Dec. 10. Her previous position was restructured and made into a Care Coordination Manager and Adult System of Care Manager. 

The Care Coordination Manager position is being filled by Yisel Morell and the ASOC Manager position is being filled by Fany Flores.

Hosts Holiday event
December 3, 2021- Wesley House Family Services Holiday Village at the Coffee Butler Amphitheater in Key West! This event was a family-friendly "pre-party" to the popular BeLighted Bike Ride. Santa, music, food vendors, activities, and a "Best Bike" contest were enjoyed by all! The Guidance/Care Center’s Prevention program set up a community booth at the Holiday Village, themed Candyland Christmas for making Gingerbread Houses. Our goal was to WOW the children and get the GCC name out there. Over 300 children & family attended the event.
