SchoolMessenger Text Messaging for Employees Launches Nov. 17
|
|
|
|
We know how important it is to be able to clearly and easily communicate with our staff and families -- now more than ever. With that in mind, we are continuing to enhance SchoolMessenger, DPS’ automated messaging system.
Later this month, we’re excited to launch the ability to send text message updates to members of Team DPS, in addition to phone calls and emails. This text feature will be used to share important, timely information, such as weather updates, unexpected closures, major announcements and immediate action items. Additionally, team members will be automatically added to their school or building’s Safety messages and will receive real-time updates when there is a secure perimeter or lockdown at that location.
Look for a welcome text message from SchoolMessenger on Nov. 17, which will be sent to your phone number listed in Employee Space. (Don’t have your current information listed? Update it now following these steps.) The text message will come from phone number 675-87. Please note, if you already receive messages through SchoolMessenger as a parent, you may not receive this welcome message because you’re already included in the system.
Looking ahead and through the transition to Gmail, your dpsk12.org email (which will be moved to Gmail on Dec. 6) will continue to be the primary communication channel used by DPS, so please continue to check that regularly. We look forward to adding this extra tool to keep Team DPS even more informed and updated. Questions? Email Sarah Freeman.

Annette Vasquez
Office Support, Columbine Elementary
Students First
"Ms. Annette is truly our guiding light and the captain of our ship here at Columbine. Annette knows each and every student, family, aunt, uncle, cousin, grandmother, etc. in our community. She is engaged with families, and consistently holds students accountable for being at school and for doing their best. Annette exemplifies a warm demeanor. There is no doubt in any child's mind that they are loved by Annette, and that she expects the best of them. Many of our students view our office as their second home and that is because of the environment she has built. Annette washes clothes for students who need it, calls students' cell phones when they are not at school, checks in on families who she knows need a phone call, and above all, she watches over each of our students' well being. We are all better for having Annette in our lives."
-- Corey Jenkins, Columbine Elementary
