In this blog statement on the 2023 Point-in-Time Count, USICH Director Olivet outlines what the Biden-Harris administration has been doing since the data was collected in January.

The report found a 12% increase in homelessness from January 2022 to January 2023. Along with the report, HUD also released fact sheets on the data, the key findings, and communities where homelessness bucked the national trend. 

The new Point-in-Time data shows a 7.4% rise in veteran homelessness since 2022.

"These medications should be as readily available as other health-and-safety equipment like carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and defibrillators."

This includes people served by Continuums of Care and people who exited or avoided homelessness with the help of public housing authorities.
