Have you done your snow dance lately? It's past time for a white winter wonderland, but the Northwoods is still looking suspiciously brown. Keep your fingers crossed and send up a wish for snow... We're ready to get started with the skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and all the things that make Mercer fun in the winter!
Check out our library calendar of events for some of the many ways you can enjoy the season with us. Maybe we can reduce a little bit of your holiday load: you could wrap your presents at our FREE wrapping station, set a beautiful table with an assortment of cookies from our cookie exchange, and send art for the holidays when you purchase cards, prints, or oil originals at the closing reception for our Artist in Residence Sandy Cashman.
All this and more is happening this month at the library... read on for details!

New story at Mercer School Forest
Visitors to the Carol Hannemann Mercer School Forest can enjoy the children’s book Over and Under the Snow by Kate Messner and Christopher Silas Neal as our December StoryWalk. This delightful story follows a child and their father as they ski through the winter forest, learning about how the animals adapt to the winter.
The school forest is located on the east side of Martha Lake Road, just north of Roamer Road. (Google Map) (Trail map) The StoryWalk® loop is only about 0.3 miles long, and you can also explore the other trails in the forest and check out the yurt, composting toilet, and trapper's cabin on the property.
