Women at Fourth's School Supply Drive
|
Our annual School Supply Drive is underway, and we need your help! Before Chicago Lights Summer Day ends on August 3, we want to have filled backpacks for each of the students to use to begin their new school year this fall. We're also collecting items for the children and youth connected with our Chicago Lights Urban Farm and Tutoring programs. Filled backpacks and school supplies for these children and youth are being gathered at morning Coffee Hour on Sundays and at the reception desk during the week. You can also sign up there to fill a backpack for a child, donate school supplies, or help receive, sort, and distribute school supplies and backpacks.
Details and a list of what is needed is posted online.
To volunteer with or learn more about the School Supply Drive, stop by Coffee Hour this Sunday morning or contact Anne Ellis at 312.573.3369.

A One-Day Training Session
|
All members of the congregation are encouraged to attend a one-day training on "Introduction to Systemic Racism," which will be offered on Saturday, September 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This training will provide an opportunity for us to develop common language, awareness, and a framework with one another in order to have productive conversations about race and systemic racism. This will help support our vision that Fourth Church and Chicago Lights be fully inclusive, life-giving organizations.
The September 23 training will be led by staff of Chicago Regional Organizing for Antiracism. The registration fee is $25 per person.
Space is limited, so please register early by contacting Anne Ellis
