Back by popular demand!
Taco Tuesday at the SAR began during the pandemic as a way to bring members together at their association building in the great outdoors when we otherwise could not gather (photos from last year).
The event was so well received that your Membership and Communications committees have been planning the return of this event since the beginning of the year.
There will be a Taco Tuesday every month until the fall - watch your Weekly Notices for details as each event draws near.

SAR Blood Drive
Tuesday, June 7th; 1-3:15
|
The Vitalant bus will be in the SAR parking lot from 1-3:15 on Tuesday, June 7th, for a blood drive.
Members are invited and encouraged to participate, of course, but so is anyone else who would like to participate.
Invite a colleague, a client, a friend - just make sure you register in advance to guarantee a spot during the event.

New DOL Mandatory Education – Fair Housing Requirements
Effective: June 1, 2022
|
Effective June 1, 2022, the WA Department of Licensing (DOL) has implemented SB 5378.
This bill requires ALL Brokers and Managing Brokers to take a Fair Housing class.
Brokers and Managing Brokers licensed BEFORE June 1, 2022, will be REQUIRED to take the “Washington Real Estate Fair Housing (6-hr)” before June 1, 2023.
New agents licensed AFTER June 1, 2022 will be REQUIRED to take the “Washington Real Estate Fair Housing (3-hr)”.
Each subsequent renewal will REQUIRE a 3-hour Fair Housing Class. Just like Current Issues in Washington Residential Real Estate, this 3-hours will be INCLUSIVE of your regular 30-hours required for each renewal.

Your SAR is working on writing the class to submit to DOL for approval.

Spokane Blitz Build 2022

The Blitz Build is an accelerated construction effort that draws over 1,000 community volunteers over a two week building period.
This event brings together sponsors, community partners, and volunteers on the job site to work side-by-side with families that partner with Habitat's affordable Homeownership Program to build healthy, safe, and affordable homes.
This year we will be framing in two homes in Habitat neighborhood development, Hope Meadows, located in Deer Park, WA.
NO EXPERIENCE is necessary to volunteer!
Learn a new skill, grab a bunch of friends and do something you’ve never done before, or bring your skills with you if you have them!

Current Issues in WA Residential Real Estate with Sabrina Jones Schroeder

You can sign up to take this class in-person at the SAR or you can zoom in.
3.0 clock hours
The Washington State Real Estate Commission and Department of Licensing requires the completion of this three clock-hour class.
The three mandatory clock hours must be included in the 30 clock-hours required for active licensees.
"Current Issues in Washington Residential Real Estate 2022-2023" is required by DOL.
Remember, you must take this class every two years for your license renewal. We are now in the 2022-2023 two-year cycle.

Class Cancellation Policy:
A refund will be granted until 3:30 p.m. three days prior to the class, after which time there will be a 50% refund.
Anyone not showing up for class will not be given a refund.
