Merry Christmas!

Mark and I wish you a blessed Christmastide! In celebration, we are offering you a Twelve Days of Christmas daily devotional that Mark wrote. We hope that it will enrich your life in some small way as you move through Christmas to Epiphany. Click on this link to find the devotional on the church website.

I will be on vacation the week after Christmas through New Year’s Day. Please contact the Deacon or Elder of the Week for any pastoral needs.

Whatever you are doing for Christmas, whether with a large group or alone, I pray that the Spirit’s presence will sustain you and give you what you need to have a peaceful and joyful celebration of Jesus’ birth.

Peace,

Peggy

The Church Officers and Leaders Dinner

After a several-year break because of Covid, the Elders and Deacons were able to hold the annual potluck dinner on Wednesday, December 14. Present were both the outgoing and incoming Elders and Deacons. The dinner was held at the home of Jerry Van Marter and Eva Stimson. Jerry fixed his famous Alaska salmon, which was delicious. It was wonderful to share in the informal fellowship with fun and laughter.

Following the dinner, the Session held a formal meeting. The only business was to examine the incoming Elders, Dave Bush, Barbara Hedspeth, and Eva Stimson, and one incoming Deacon, Gail DeMarsh. Allen Bridgman, the other incoming Deacon, was unable to attend the dinner because of illness. She met with the Session before worship on Sunday, December 18, and was examined. The Session welcomed all these incoming officers.

On Sunday, December 18, the ordination of Barbara Hedspeth and the installation of all the officers was held during the worship service. When you see any of these folks, be sure to thank them for answering the call to serve Christ’s church in this manner.
