Kids' Community Swap Meet
Saturday, June 4
Calling all shoppers! The Kids' Community Swap Meet will be open for business from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4th at the Yorba Linda Community Center. Entrance is free for shoppers! Bring your shopping bags, wagons, or carts and visit over 60 vendor booths to score great bargains on clothes, furniture, toys, books, games, sports equipment, electronics, and other gently used items while enjoying time spent with friends and family. Teen Night Out
Saturday, June 4
Join recreation staff at Play Live Nation in Brea Mall and test your gaming skills. Recreation staff will supervise the event which will include some fun gaming trivia. Admission includes two hours of gaming, plus food, drinks, and raffle prizes. Celebration of the Arts

This is an event not to be missed! The City of Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department is proud to join the Yorba Linda Arts Alliance Foundation in co-sponsoring the 21st annual Celebration of the Arts and Music Festival at Hurless Barton Park (4701 Casa Loma Avenue) on Sunday, June 5th from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The whole family can enjoy this afternoon event featuring over 80 art vendors, musical performances, dance performances, food trucks, and more! Movies in the Park

The City of Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department presents Movies in the Park! Come join us at Hurless Barton Park for our second Movie in the Park of 2022 featuring Paw Patrol. The movie will begin at dusk (approx. 7:45 p.m.) and be shown on a 20-foot inflatable screen for an AWESOME viewing experience! Don't forget to bring a blanket or a low lawn chair for seating. Kids' Quest Camp

Looking for something fun to do over summer break? Join us for 8-weeks of fun camp activities as we head out on exciting adventures at our Kids' Quest Summer Camp! Recreation staff has a summer full of awesome excursions planned from movies, miniature golf, go karts, and bowling to Medieval Times and water adventures, this camp has it all!

Summer Swim Lessons

Cool off, make new friends, and have fun while building confidence and becoming more of an independent swimmer this summer! Our youth swim lessons will be held at Yorba Linda High School located at (19900 Bastanchury Rd.) The following sessions are available this summer for varying ages and levels:

Spike Time Youth Volleyball
June 20 - August 13
Join recreation staff in this fun-filled beginners' volleyball league! Participants will meet for instructional sessions twice a week throughout this 8-week program, where games and drills will focus on the fundamentals of passing, setting, hitting, and serving. Weekly Saturday morning games will give the players a chance to show off their improving skills. All participants will receive a Spike Time t-shirt and volleyball! Water Wednesdays

Family Trivia Night
June 25
Is your head filled with random facts and information? Come join us at the Community Center for our Family Trivia Night and test your knowledge! Work together as a team to earn points by answering questions on a variety of topics. Questions will be geared for ages ten and up, and after dinner snacks, appetizers, and refreshments will be provided along with prizes for the winning teams! Please bring a tablet or mobile device that can connect to cell service or wifi to participate, as the game will be run through the online server "Kahoot." $25 per family/table, register online using Course #19184.
Veterans Recognition Program
Are you, or a member of your immediate household, a Veteran? Join the City of Yorba Linda and participate in this community program by proudly displaying your veteran flag or banner. The Veteran Recognition Program is designed to honor and recognize Veterans living in Yorba Linda. The Veterans banners are 18" x 48" and are designed to be displayed on residences by affixing the banner to the eaves of the structure, patio cover, or overhang. The flags are 3' x 5' and can be displayed using a traditional flagpole or a house-mounted flagpole. Each flag/banner will state "A Yorba Linda Veteran Lives Here" and will have the logo of the military branch in which the veteran served. Banners are $25, flags are $55.

Mark your calendars and get ready to celebrate Independence Day with us! Gather your family and friends to join the City of Yorba Linda as we light up the summer sky at our annual 4th of July Spectacular! One of Yorba Linda's most beloved traditions, the event will be held on Monday, July 4, 2022, at Veterans Park and Yorba Linda Middle School! Attendees will enjoy food vendors, family activities, a live band featuring United Party Heros, and of course: fireworks! The fun starts at 5:00 p.m. with live music and a fireworks show at 9:00 p.m.
Save the Date
End your weekend on a high note! Pack a picnic basket and your dancing shoes and come down to Hurless Barton Park Amphitheater (4601 Casa Loma Avenue) from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. to enjoy some great music with family and friends. Three new bands will be introduced to Yorba Linda this summer, and they're all great! Seating is available on the grass, so please bring beach chairs and blankets. Teen Action Committee
The City of Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department is currently looking for enthusiastic and responsible 7th and 8th-grade middle school students to form the Teen Action Committee (T.A.C) for the 2022-2023 school year. Earn volunteer hours, learn new skills, and meet new friends.

Adventure Playground Renovation Update
Exciting renovation progress is underway and beginning to take shape at Adventure Playground! The installation of the water slide has been completed and large boulders are being delivered and set to form the rock wall slope and the streambed! In addition, concrete has been poured for the treehouse play structure, and flooring for the equipment rooms, wood storage shelter, woodshop shelter, and picnic shelter. These are just a couple of tangible signs of what's coming soon! Our anticipation is high as this project with new amenities becomes more real every day! With construction underway, the community can look forward to a late fall 2022 opening for the new, state-of-the-art, Adventure Playground! Outdoor Pickleball Courts
Box Canyon
Attention all pickleball enthusiasts! Serve up some fun this summer while checking out our newest outdoor pickleball courts located at Box Canyon! Challenge your friends to a game, or two, this summer and earn those bragging rights! Portable nets are onsite so all you need to bring are your rackets, pickleballs, sunscreen, water, and opponents!
Events at the Virginia De Land Theater
The Virginia De Land Theater is the centerpiece of the Cultural Arts Center and the ideal location for productions and cultural arts events, including plays, recitals, concerts, and other performance art. Named for Yorba Linda Civic Light Opera founder Virginia De Land, the hyperflexible black box space features:

  • Retractable tiered seating for 164, with additional seating risers available to create customized configurations, including theater-in-the-round;
  • State-of-the-art sound and lighting system;
  • Ability to utilize lobby, green room, outdoor paseo, and other auxiliary spaces for performance days; and
  • Central location is adjacent to Yorba Linda Town Center and historic Main Street.
