Community Service Promotes Learning and Builds Skills
Studies show that scholars who participate in community service projects accomplish more academically and socially than their peers who do not. Volunteering promotes positive feelings and provides a greater understanding of community and society.
Scholars who volunteer:
- Have higher self-esteem.
- Are less likely to engage in dangerous behaviors.
- Learn how to interact with different types of people.
- Learn how to solve problems.
- Learn how to follow through on commitments.

With Flu season upon us, it is important that we work together to keep our scholars and staff healthy. You can help prevent the spread of colds and flu viruses by following a few simple steps:
- Cover noses and mouths with a tissue or the bend of your elbow when sneezing or coughing. Dispose of the tissue immediately and apply hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
- Wash hands frequently with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
- Remind scholars to avoid touching their face, mouth, nose, and eyes.
- If your child has a fever, chills, cough, sore throat, body aches, keep him/her at home to prevent the spread of illness to others.
-
Most importantly, your child should be fever free (temp. below 100 degrees without Tylenol or Motrin) for at least 24 hours before returning to campus.
Also, please make sure your scholar is eating a healthy breakfast and packing a lunch or ordering from My Hot Lunchbox. We are currently out of spare lunches and are running very low on snacks. We are asking for donations of the following items to help support our scholars:
· Granola bars/ ready to eat soups or cups of noodles
· Water bottles
Donations can be left in the front office labeled for the Trivium Prep Health Office. Thank you for the support in keeping our Knights healthy this holiday season.
Thank you,
Christine Work, RN

Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.
