June's Featured Yorkie

Meet Mystery Yorkie-- your potential next foster...

Why foster?

  1. Help us learn about the yorkie's personality
  2. Help socialize the yorkie in a loving home
  3. Increase the yorkie's chances of an adoption
  4. Enjoy the companionship of an extra yorkie without a long commitment
  5. Prevent a stressed out yorkie from staying in a shelter... all alone...

Dear Millie,

My family and I were so lucky to have a dog like you in our lives! Through the ups and downs, you were always there to put a smile on our faces and cuddle with us. Everyone said you were the dog version of me, and you quite literally were. We both inhaled our food, we were both idiots, we both loved our stuffed animals and blankets, we both loved to sleep, etc. Not to mention you picked me (literally). We needed each other. You have made me one of the luckiest humans around. I hope you rest well and know that I will NEVER forget you. You were the best dog I could have ever wished for! I love you so much! Rest well my love! We will be alright!

I love you so much,

Khloe Alexander

(P.S. I will take good care of your stuffed animal)

My sweet Millie had to be put down today. She was 16 years old. She was not doing well and it was time for her to leave us. She was the best dog a girl like me could ask for! Thank you to everyone who talked with me! Thank you, Millie, for a wonderful life, please rest well, you deserve it.

Hi Mary Elizabeth,

I don’t know if you remember Millie, but she is the little liver shunt baby that you picked up in 2009 and had to rush to the vet because she was hypoglycemic. I fostered her and then adopted her. She lived with us for a couple of years until she decided that my grand daughter Khloe was her person. They were inseparable. Millie had a few health issues through the years but came through each one with flying colors. She was a truly unique and special little girl. She made it to the age of sixteen, which Khloe will also be in July. On Wednesday we had to let her go as her little body couldn’t go on. It’s amazing that as a liver shunt baby she reached that age. It shows you what love can do. Khloe’s heart is broken but she knows that we, all together, made the right decision. Khloe did a beautiful post on FB.

Love and hugs,

Barbara
