Building A Legacy, One Brick At A Time

Over the holidays, the walkway outside Sherman High School became home to the first set of Legacy Bricks, honoring and memorializing community members, alumni and graduating classes past and present.

“The Legacy Bricks Campaign allows the Sherman community to etch their names or the ones they care about into the very foundation of the new high school,” said Kathy Bickerstaff, Executive Director of the Sherman Education Foundation. “And with every brick bought and installed, students and staff across Sherman ISD benefit from an enhanced learning environment.”

Dillingham Elementary Continues Teacher's Legacy With Strong Community Support

Dillingham Elementary is excited to see Cole’s Closet grow into the vision that its originator, the late teacher Nicole Newbold who passed away last year, had to supply Dillingham Lions with personal needs and clothing necessities. Her sign is proudly displayed, and and the school appreciates the dedication and collaboration of numerous staff members, Student Council, and Communities in Schools to ensure this vision was successful. Many donors pitched in over the past couple of months to help stock Cole’s Closet, including local businesses CVICU and the Sherman H&R Block locations. Thanks to everyone for their support!
