Announcements of Thanks
NOVEMBER 2021
November is the month of giving and gratitude, and we have a lot to be thankful for! This month we have news and events for the diners, home chefs and Thanksgiving hosts getting the table ready for company. Plus, some shoutouts for local initiatives that feed our communities and are looking for volunteers and your support this season. Every local business announcement this month spotlights all the things we are thankful for—good food, good company and building thriving, sustainable communities!

And stay tuned for a bonus at the bottom of this newsletter: A peek at what’s ahead in our Holiday+Winter season coming out later this month.

FEEDING NEIGHBORS!
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS, JOIN THE HARVEST!
As the holiday season rolls in, Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley is sending out an urgent call for volunteers this Thursday, November 4, at their San Jose site. Have a couple hours to spare? Sign up here.

It’s been a difficult year for so many people in the Silicon Valley, and we are thankful for organizations like Second Harvest, Sacred Heart Community Services and Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen who provide a safety net for families who are struggling with food insecurity.

Last year, Second Harvest volunteers contributed over 208,000 hours of service sorting donations, distributing meals, and more. Let’s see if we can improve on that 208k as this year comes to a close! Lend a hand this season (and beyond) with monetary donations or hands-on volunteering.
DELICIOUS DINING!
FLEA STREET HAS REMODELED AND IS FULLY OPEN
Menlo Park’s farm-to-table favorite Flea Street is fully open and ready to serve this fall with a newly remodeled dining room fitted with two MERV 13 filters and designed with safety, social distancing and comfort in mind. So whether you are dining inside, outside or taking a meal to-go, diners can expect to breathe easy and enjoy California-fresh cuisine & cocktails!

Congrats on the remodel, Flea Street, and thank you for going the extra mile to promote wellness while maintaining a cozy ambiance, delicious meals and a great dining experience.
