Winter Weather Update
While precipitation associated with the winter weather event has left the area, icy conditions due to freezing temperatures will likely persist in certain spots through the weekend. Local weather reports indicate we may get slightly above freezing during the day today (Friday, Feb. 4) and above freezing during the day through the weekend, but temperatures will likely drop well below freezing again in the evening causing any wet roads and sidewalks to refreeze. Please use caution on area roads and walk-ways over the weekend. Also, please make sure sprinkler systems are turned off during freezing conditions. Here are some additional important weather updates:

ROAD CONDITIONS:
While some roads are drivable, expect slick spots to form in certain locations, especially in the evening and early morning hours. Please continue to avoid travel unless necessary, especially during those times. Visit drivetexas.org for the latest on statewide road conditions.

TRASH SERVICE:
Trash and recycling services through Waste Connections were suspended for Thursday and Friday customers this week. If you normally have service on those days, crews are planning to be at those locations Saturday to service those customers. Please make sure to put your carts out early Saturday for service if you normally have Thursday and Friday trash service. Questions? Email [email protected].

OFFICE CLOSURES:
City offices remain closed on Friday, Feb. 4 due to weather conditions. For emergencies, please call 9-1-1. For non-emergencies, please call the Lakeway Police Department at (512) 261-2800.
